Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between Ombre Brows and Microblading?

A: Microblading looks like hair strokes, and typically fades faster. Microblading causes more trauma to the skin over time, so touch ups should be minimal and spread out. This is best for people with tighter skin and smaller pores.

Ombre or Powder Brow technique does not create hair strokes, but it does tend to last longer than other techniques. There is minimal trauma to the skin, so less touch ups are required. This is more suitable for all skin types.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: Every client is different and pain tolerance varies. Most clients describe the pain level as minimal and find tweezing and threading more uncomfortable. We use the best topical lidocaine cream available to minimize discomfort. That being said, this is a still a tattoo. You will typically feel some discomfort. Based on experience, we would describe the feeling as a slight burning, astringent like sensation. Very tolerable and worth it!

Q: What is the healing process like?

A: Some swelling and tenderness after the procedure is normal and may last a day or so, depending on the client.

Powder Brows: Your new brows will appear darker, wider, and sharper then the way they will heal. This healing process takes about 7 days on average. It’s important to follow all after care instructions and to attend the required follow up appointment to make the finishing touches to your new brows. Your healing is only about 50% in our control.

Lip Blushing: Lips heal quicker. You can expect for the color to lighten about 70% in the next 2-5 days and a darker, more intense color for the first few. You can expect dryness and flaking until completely healed.

Lash Line Enhancement: Your lash line will appear darker and more bold for the first few days. Expect some soreness and flaking in the healing process.

Q: How long does it last?

A:

Powder Brows: This will vary by client. If aftercare instructions are followed diligently, your new brows will last approximately 12-24 months on average before they're mostly faded; 18 months on average. Certain factors such as sun exposure and tanning beds, getting chemical peels, oily skin type, bleeding, etc., will affect how long your brows last. Coming too soon for a touch up increases the risk for scar tissue or causing your brows to look unnatural.
Lip Blushing: Lips tend to fade around 2-5 years. A touch up is recommended when your tattoo is about 50% faded.

Lash Line Enhancement: This can last anywhere from 1-5 years before a color retouch will be needed.
